On good terms? This Is Us star Justin Hartley filed for divorce from his wife, Chrishell Hartley, earlier this week but it looks like they may still be friendly with each other. While their separation date was listed as July 8 on documents obtained by In Touch, the exes hosted a viewing party for Justin’s former costar and Chrishell’s best friend Melissa Claire Egan on November 16.

Melissa, 38, played Justin’s character’s wife on The Young and the Restless, and she went on to earn a role in Hallmark’s 2019 film, Holiday for Heroes. To celebrate, Justin, 42, and Chrishell, 38, threw a viewing party for Melissa. The former soap opera star shared a group photo from the get-together on Instagram.

“SO lucky for these friends, and so lucky for my besties @chrishellhartley & @justinhartley, throwing a screening party for Holiday for Heroes tonight. Best friends ever. If you missed it, it will air again, check it out! @hallmarkmovie,” Melissa captioned the shot.

Even though Justin cited “irreconcilable differences” on the divorce documents that were filed on November 21, it seems they remained friendly after their split. On July 22, just weeks after their aforementioned separation date, the Smallville alum posted a sweet birthday tribute to his estranged wife on Instagram.

“Let’s all wish this young gem of a human a very happy birthday! To many more years of love and laughs!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @chrishellhartley,” he captioned a photo of the Selling Sunset star. But that was the last time Chrishell made an appearance on the actor’s feed.

As for Chrishell, she last posted a photo with Justin on November 15, one week before their divorce filing, as they attended a Golden Globes party with a group of friends. “And swipe to see me [and] @justinhartley awkward prom photo! HA,” she captioned the set of photos, adding two laughing emojis and two laughing with tears emojis, plus a pink heart emoji.

News of the former couple’s divorce not only shocked fans, but it shocked their friends as well. “People close to Justin and Chrishell are completely shocked by Justin filing for divorce,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight. “The couple has always been incredible with no signs of things being on the rocks. Friends are speculating this was an impulse on Justin’s side due to something that happened, and are hopeful the couple can work things out.”
