Brothers John and Tom were once active in their family’s tree business, but now, they’re addicted to heroin and living on the streets of Paterson, New Jersey. Their parents fear that without help, all will be lost. Watch the exclusive Intervention sneak peek above for more.

“My younger boy ‘John-John’ is smart, very smart. Basically, he could do anything he wanted to if he just put his mind to it, you know?” the brothers’ father, John Sr., said.

Meanwhile, their mother, Linda, added of Thomas, 23: “Thomas was the sweetest little boy. Loving, loved his family. Took care of his little brother, took care of me. Was always just a caretaker.” She continued, “My kids saw their future in the family business. The boys were so proud of the family business. I mean, since they were toddlers.”

In the 1960s, John, 21, and Tom’s grandfather founded a successful tree service. “He started it with a chainsaw and a station wagon,” John Sr. said. “He built one hell of a company.”

Tom admitted that he used to love waking up early and going to work with his family. “Nothing was better than the feeling of, like, waking up in the morning, going to work. Me and my grandfather and my dad. It was definitely a cool feeling.”

John Sr. said his son was a “great kid. Smart kid. Hard-worker,” he gushed of Thomas. “Unfortunately, drugs came into the situation, and my younger sons are both addicted to heroin.”
