Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Slammed for Wearing Halloween Costumes in Exchange for ‘Free’ Food
Getting boo’d. Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are being slammed online after Jill shared a photo of her fam wearing Halloween costumes in exchange for “freebies.” Although it’s unclear whether or not they actually went trick or treating, the former Counting On stars *did* stop off at a few fast-food chains for some cheap eats.
“We had a blast. We enjoyed dressing up this evening and going out for some family fall fun and Halloween freebies & deals!” Jill, 28, captioned several photos of their night out. She added, “1st stop was @sonicdrivein for some 50 cent corn dogs, 2nd stop was to @chipotle for some $4 #booritos (And no extra charge for the guac tonight!!). 3rd stop was to @krispykreme for some free donuts (+ the hot light was on, so they asked us if we wanted the free glazed ones in addition to the free donut of our choice!!).” She topped off the lengthy caption with the hashtag “#familyfun.”
Unfortunately, not everyone was thrilled with the former reality star. “Take the poor kids out trick or treating for some real fun, not just so you can get ‘freebies,'” one person fumed, while another added, “Exactly!!!! She is her father’s daughter!! #anythingForFREE,” they said, referring to Jim Bob.
Ouch. At least one person came to the famous family’s defense, though. “Nowhere does @jillmdillard say they went trick or treating. They dressed up to get freebies and deals. It’s no different than dressing up as a cow for the free chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A each year!” They added, “Stop judging everything these people do and let them live their lives … Jill and @derickdillard you and the boys are adorable. Glad you had a fun family night!”
The Duggars are known to frequent Chick-fil-A on days when they have deals. In fact, they love it so much, Anna Duggar once wrote on Instagram, “Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Chick-fil-A!” Hey, a little mooching never hurt anyone. Or should we say mooch?
