‘Jersey Shore’ Star Deena Defends Angelina’s Wedding Toast: ‘Our Speech Was Not Meant to Be Malicious’

Back off, haters! Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Deena Cortese took to Instagram on Friday, November 22, in a now-deleted post to address all of the backlash she’s gotten because of the bridesmaids’ speech she made with her costars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley at their fellow costar Angelina Pivarnick‘s wedding to Chris Larangeira earlier this week, and she defended their toast to the bride.

Deena, 32, who is a mom to 10-month-old son CJ, called out the trolls who were sending her some really nasty comments and direct messages on Instagram. “I LITERALLY HOPE SOMEONE TELLS YOUR SON ON HIS WEDDING DAY HOW HES [sic] A TRASH BAG AND VOMIT,” one user wrote. “I feel sorry for [your] son to be raised by a s–tty heartless person. I hope your husband leaves you and takes your son to be raised by a real mother,” another added.

In a since-deleted post, Deena defended herself from those rude messages. “Listen I understand your [sic] all upset about our speech but we also included nice things in it as well .. we thought since Angelina always says ‘I never take myself seriously,’ she would truly laugh at the stuff we said,” she wrote, according to Us Weekly. “Clearly we were wrong … we’re friggen [sic] human … people make mistakes … But wishing bad on my son … how are you any better.”

“Our speech was not meant to be malicious … we actually did a lot while filming with Angelina for her wedding … I’m not a mean person and our intentions were never negative … yes, we had a ‘roast part’ which yes, I understand no one agrees with but [Chris’] one brother brought up his period s–t tattoo … so why is us making jokes during a speech a problem,” Angelina continued.  “We truly thought she was going to laugh and right after we went into how lucky we are to have her in our lives and she’s the sister we needed in the house. I was truly going to stay quite [sic] but when people continue to come after my 10-month-old son .. im [sic] done.”

As In Touch previously reported, Angelina, 33, tied the knot on Wednesday, November 20, with her longtime love, Chris. But Deena, Snooki, 32, and JWoww, 33, took their speech too far with their jokes, and they were even “booed” by the wedding guests, an insider told Us Weekly. “Angelina stormed off during the wedding and was upset about it,” the source added. “She was pissed. Now, she’s not talking to them.”
