Far too few cases of missing children end with happy endings, at least but Heaven Ray Cox’s does. The 15-year-old girl from Mauriceville, TX, who disappeared on Nov. 26, has been found safe and sound. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Heaven vanished after leaving a note suggesting she was headed to California. Her note, however, made no mention of how and why she was leaving.

_PEOPLE _ reports Heaven’s mother, Tammy Cox, told Facebook followers Heaven’s friends told her Heaven was in the company of a man from California “much older than her,” whom she met through Snapchat. Additionally, Tammy revealed, Heaven has been taking medication for bipolar disorder but left her pills at home.

“The man she has been talking to is a predator who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend,” Tammy wrote. “This man told her that he would be in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and that he would pick her up.”

But Heaven didn’t get to California, it seems. In a Facebook statement on Nov. 30, the sheriff’s office said she was found in the Louisiana home of a relative of someone she knew. She was reunited with her family that same evening.

“Preliminary reports are that Heaven left her residence last Saturday on her own accord, but we will continue to speak to all persons involved,” the statement continued. “We have not ruled out pending criminal charges.”
