Felicity Huffman Is All Smiles as She Is Spotted for the First Time Since Prison Sentencing in L.A.
Out and about. Felicity Huffman was spotted for the first time with her husband, William H. Macy, in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 14 — just one day after the actress received her prison sentence for her involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal.
The 56-year-old was all smiles as she carried boxes with her husband and dog. Felicity sported a hat with sunglasses and wore a gray long sleeve shirt with black pants and sneakers. For his part, William, 69, wore a white T-shirt with black pants and sneakers along with a baseball cap and sunglasses.
It seemed like the blonde beauty was in a good place after her life was up in the air for months. “Felicity is grateful she only received 14 days in prison,” an insider told Us Weekly. “The probation report was favorable for Felicity, but there were no guarantees that the judge could have sentenced to her a much longer term.”
On Friday, September 13 — after Huffman pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud back in April — she was sentenced to 14 days in prison. Additionally, she was sentenced to one year of probation, and she has to complete 250 hours of community service as well as pay a $30,000 fine.
After the judge told her the sentence, the Hollywood A-lister accepted “the court’s decision without reservation,” she said in a statement. “I broke the law. I have admitted that, and I have pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period. I would like to apologize again to my daughter, my husband, my family and the educational community for my actions. And I especially want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices supporting their children.”
