She may have accepted her 14-day prison sentence with grace, but that doesn’t mean Felicity Huffman isn’t scared. As the actress left court after facing punishment for her role in the college admissions scandal, she looked distraught. On Friday, September 13, the former Desperate Housewives actress was sentenced to serve 14 days in prison, a year of probation and 250 hours of community service.

Paying Up
In addition to that, she was also sentenced to pay a $30,000 fine. That amount is nearly double the “purported charitable contribution of $15,000” the mother of two paid to influencer her daughter’s score on the SAT.

Guilty
The sentencing comes just over five months after Felicity plead guilty to her role in the scandal, saying, “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”

Recommendation
Earlier in the month, the prosecution recommended that the actress face a month of jail time and a $20,000 fine. In her own letter to the judge, Felicity suggested ample community service instead of time behind bars.

For Her
Friends and family also spoke out on her behalf, including former costar Eva Longoria. “She always leads with her heart and has always put others first,” she wrote in a letter to the judge. “This is why I still call her my friend today and always.”
It seems the judge split the difference with their sentencing, something the star accepted “without reservation.” In her own statement, she shared, “There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period.”
