Coco Austin Defends Breast-Feeding Daughter Chanel, 3, Despite Backlash: ‘She Eats Cheeseburgers’
No stranger to controversy, Coco Austin is under fire for her recent social media post of her breast-feeding her 3-year-old daughter Chanel. Ice-T’s main squeeze, 40, is proud to still be nursing and defended herself to Us Weekly on Thursday, September 26, at the Equal Standard premiere.
“[You] need to have a baby to understand it,” the blonde beauty said. “What I think confuses people is they saw the picture and they think Chanel doesn’t eat food. And she eats cheeseburgers. She only breast-feeds … like, when she cries [and] she just wants to get close to her mama. She throws the boob out and … holds on. She’s not doing it for nourishment. This chick eats chili fries, OK?”
In the photo posted on September 18, Coco shared an image of her breast-feeding her daughter on a private plane. She made a point to take a stance to #NormalizeBreast-feeding. The proud mom added that she still breast-feeds to feel a sense of closeness with her young daughter, “It’s not about that. It’s about giving love to your child and bonding with your child and also giving them good nutrition. Breast milk is like liquid gold. All around, it’s a good thing.”
She might be on to something when it comes to the magic of breast milk. Coco previously told In Touch that Chanel is quite advanced for her age. She said that when it comes to dance class, she’s definitely an overachiever. “She’s just started dance classes and it’s so cute because like all the girls in class range from like three to six, and they’re pretty much all six years old. She’s three years old, and she’s like the only one that pays attention in class, she really wants to learn.”
The power couple has big plans for their mature young lady. “I think she’s, she’s very creative. And I think she’ll take on what we do,” the model said. Apart from dance, she will for sure be posing for the camera just like her mom. The tot already has a thriving Instagram with over 450k followers. So hey, maybe the more we breast-feed, the higher the chances are of our kids becoming influencers.
