While there’s no denying that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin had one of the most magical celebrity weddings of 2019, not everything during the luxe South Carolina affair went according to plan. 

“In the middle of the ceremony a pew with some ladies on it completely collapsed!” a source exclusively divulged to In Touch. “It stopped the wedding. At first, everyone gasped and went silent … but once they realize that everyone was OK, we all started laughing. It was so funny. It definitely broke the ice.”

Broke the ice, indeed! “After that, Justin was less nervous,” the insider noted. “The wedding was at a pause until they were able to get a new seat and fix everything and then it resumed as normal.”

Despite the whole pew snafu, Justin, 25, and Hailey, 22, went on to exchange their vows (peacefully!) in front of their loved ones. “Justin’s dad’s side of the family was there. On Pattie’s side, her mom and dad, Bruce and Diane Dale, and her siblings, Chris Mallette, Chris (Chuck) Dale and sister, Candie Buck Patton,” the source detailed. 

“It was beautiful — there were about 150 people in the smaller church on the property. Inside was a small orchestra playing beautiful music as the wedding party walked down the aisle. There were cellos and violins [to] set a romantic mood,” the insider continued, adding that it was a “very religious ceremony.”

Even if the “I Don’t Care” singer and high-fashion model have been legally married for over a year, it was still an emotional occasion. “There was not a dry eye in the room. Hailey walked down with her father Steven [Baldwin]. There was no flower girl. Justin was extremely nervous at the start of the ceremony, but looked so happy,” the source gushed.

“He was being light-hearted and joking the whole time. At one point, the officiant said something like, ‘A ring is a symbol for love’ and Justin went, ‘What do you mean? Can you explain that?’ in a funny way he kept asking for things to be repeated, Justin was being Justin, everyone giggled, including Hailey.”

Clearly, nothing can get in the way of Justin and Hailey’s fairytale love — even poorly built furniture.
