Mother knows best? Well, not in this case. Tamra Judge’s son Ryan Vieth posted a controversial Instagram photo about a transgender family, and the Real Housewives of Orange County star “liked” the picture and even left a contentious comment.

On Tuesday, January 15, Ryan, 33, shared a screenshot of a U.K. article which read, “Britain’s first transgender family reveals son, 5, is also transitioning.”

In a since-deleted post, he commented, “LET’S BE F—KING REAL, THE WORLD IS F—KED. COMPLETELY F—KED.” He continued, “The only thing that kid should be transitioning into is being a 6-year-old. Anything else is abusive brainwashing.” The blonde beauty replied to her son, “Wow, that’s sad. 5-year-old cannot make a decision like that.” The reality star deleted her comment before the post was taken down.

While Tamra’s words definitely stirred the pot, a source told Us Weekly that she “did not mean to offend” anyone. “She does not share the same beliefs as her son. She was commenting on the story itself and felt a 5-year-old might be too young to make those decisions,” the source continued.

Some of the California native’s fans were not happy with how she handled the situation. One Twitter user wrote, “If Tamra Judge agrees with this hateful rhetoric, I’m done with OC,” while another echoed, “She showed us who she is. Now we know.” One follower was very upset with Tamra, writing, “That was a really hurtful thing to say, Tamra. Why would you want to be the judge of another human being?”

This isn’t the first time Tamra’s son has gotten into trouble, either. In 2015, Ryan was arrested for domestic violence, after he got into a drunken fight with his baby mama.

The mom-of-four has always supported her son, but in 2015, a source told Radar at the time that she was “devastated and embarrassed by the arrest.” The insider added, “She had to bail Ryan out of jail the day she returned from her belated honeymoon from Greece with hubby Eddie Judge.
