After Pete Davidson scared the internet by sharing suicidal thoughts on Instagram and then turning off his phone, rumors started circulating that the comedian was off to rehab. In addition to talking frankly about his mental health both this year and in the past, he’s also just had a tough 2018 after his extremely public breakup with Ariana Grande. So when rumors started circulating that the star was in rehab again, well, it wasn’t particularly surprising. But as it turns out, he hasn’t actually returned to treatment. Instead, he’s been spending the holidays with his family and friends.

According to a new report by Radar Online, the SNL star was spotted on Dec. 25 in Red Bank, NJ with his mom and sister as they celebrated Christmas at a relative’s house. Not only that, he was also seen at a Machine Gun Kelly show in Ohio just a few days earlier. The two artists had collaborated together for the “LOCO” music video which came out over the summer. After Pete shared that message on his now-deleted Instagram, the rapper flew out to be by his side.

All in all, it seems like he’s doing okay these days, though fans are certainly hoping he’ll check out treatment soon. According to ET Online, Lorne Michaels, the creator of SNL, is planning to help him in whatever way he can. While that first meant taking a step back from the Dec. 15 episode — ET says Lorne cut all the sketches he was meant to appear in and simply had him introduce one of Miley Cyrus‘s performances instead — it might also mean finding the right rehab. Whether he needs to take time off to get professional help or just to spend it with people who love him, we’re just glad that Pete is safe, and we hope he gets the help he needs.
