His ex may be handling their breakup by moving on to the next fling, but Liam Hemsworth is having a little more trouble coping. A source close to the star tells Us Weekly that he’s been relying on his big brother Chris Hemsworth to help him through his split with Miley Cyrus. “Liam is really sad about the breakup,” the insider told the outlet. “His family has been taking care of him, and he’s been leaning on Chris throughout his trip to Australia.”

Though Liam, 29, publicly wished Miley, 26, “nothing but health and happiness,” it sounds like he may be having difficulty finding that for himself. Thankfully, his vacation in his home country seems to be helping. On Tuesday, August 13, the younger two Hemsworth brothers were spotted surfing in Queensland. The day before, they hung out in Byron Bay, where the Hunger Games star headed out to grab some frozen yogurt.

While he’s wallowing, however, the Hannah Montana star is processing her emotions in the recording studio — and she even posted a photo of herself seemingly working on a new song. “[She] wanted to make her relationship with Liam work more than anything,” a source told Us, but now she’s “really focused on work and being in a healthy place.” Though the couple had apparently been over for months before the news broke, Miley was ultimately the one to call it quits.

Since then, she’s broken her silence to write about how you can’t fight evolution. “Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” she wrote on Instagram on August 11. “The Dolomites were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me, ‘Nature never hurries, but it is always on time.’ … It fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process, and I am committed to doing the same with my own. 💙”
