This must be every celebrity’s worst nightmare. Kevin Hart has broken his silence after it was revealed that someone was extorting the funny man, 38, for millions of dollars. On Instagram, the Ride Along star admitted fault and apologized to his pregnant wife and children, but failed to mention what exactly happened.

“I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back. And because of that, I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn’t,” he said in a video posted to Instagram. “You know, I’m not perfect. I’m not going to sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way shape or form. And I made a bad error in judgment and I put myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did. And in doing that, I know that I’m going to hurt the people closest to me, who I’ve talked to and apologized to, that would be my wife and kids.”

In the video, he says there’s “no excuses” for his past behavior and insists that he will “do better” in the future — though he fails to make specific claims. According to TMZ, the FBI has gotten involved in the investigation — and law enforcement believe they know who made the threats against the actor.

According to the site, there’s a provacative video of Kevin and another woman — who isn’t his wife — engaging sexually at the center of the drama. Sources tell TMZ that they know who the woman is in the video, but it’s unclear if she’s the person who is attempting to extort the star, or if the video landed in unsavory hands and now a third party is trying to use it to their advantage.

Kevin has been married to Eniko Parrish since 2016. Earlier this year, he addressed rumors that he cheated on his wife, telling Entertainment Tonight that the allegations were “absolutely not true.”
