Last night, Karen McDougal confirmed what we already know: The way Donald Trump speaks about daughter Ivanka is unsettling. The alleged former mistress sat down with Anderson Cooper on March 22 to discuss — for the first time on TV — her alleged 10-month-long affair with Trump before he became President. During the interview, the former Playboy model revealed that he made comparisons between her and his daughter during their alleged relationship.

“Did he ever compare you to any of his kids?” Anderson asked. Karen admitted that he had. “You know, he’s very proud of Ivanka — as he should be,” she said. “I mean, she’s a brilliant woman. She’s beautiful. She’s… that’s his daughter and he should be proud of her. He said I was beautiful like her… And you know, ‘You’re a smart girl.’ There wasn’t a lot of comparing but there was some. I heard a lot about her.”

Needless to say, it’s odd that Trump would compare his alleged lover to his daughter. One would assume that a woman who you engage in sexual relations with shouldn’t remind you of your child. Of course, this isn’t the first time Trump has made an eyebrow-raising comment about Ivanka. His former mistress, Stormy Daniels, revealed in her explosive interview with In Touch that Trump also compared her to Ivanka.

“He once told me that I was someone to be reckoned with, beautiful and smart just like his daughter,” she explained. Plus, Trump has gone on the record making creepy comments about his affection toward Ivanka.

Following a 2015 interview with the reality star, a Rolling Stone writer noted: “After I met Ivanka and praised her to her father, he said, ‘Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father…'”

So, are Karen’s statements really surprising knowing Trump’s past comments about Ivanka? No. But, are they strange? Absolutely.
