Things are looking up for Kailyn Lowry! The Teen Mom 2 star was having doubts that her third baby daddy, Chris Lopez, would be a doting father, but the two have reportedly been spending a lot of time together.

A source told Hollywood Life, “Kailyn and Chris have been spending more time together since the baby’s birth, trying to make the whole difficult situation work. He is doing his best to be a good father and to treat Kailyn better. Chris loves their little baby and wants to make sure he has a healthy relationship with Kailyn.” They added, “They are both a bit overwhelmed with the new baby and have not been getting enough sleep. But he is there and doing what he feels is the right thing. Kailyn is happy that he is present and helping with diapers and late night feedings, so all is well with them… for now at least.” We’re so happy to hear!

The mom-of-three — who shares Isaac, 7, with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and Lincoln, 3, with ex-husband Javi Marroquin — has been vocal about her relationship (or lack thereof) with Chris since the arrival of their baby boy, who has yet to be named. She recently explained of his involvement, “I think he has been as supportive as he can. He does the best to his ability even though it doesn’t necessarily meet the standards that everyone else expects of him. I think people need to keep that in mind.”

Earlier this month, however, the new dad took to Twitter to gush about his newborn son. He wrote, “My lil man put a smile on my face every time I look at him.” So sweet! We’re hoping this means he’ll stick around for good — and maybe rekindle a romance with Kail?! Only time will tell.

Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
