Former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin is urging his sextuplets to spend time together amid the rift in the Gosselin family. The 43-year-old father is desperate for his children to reconnect.

“My wish is that all my kids would just be together, like, hang out together,” he told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, May 18. “Kate [Gosselin] and I don’t live that far away from each other and I feel like there’s an invisible wall. They should just be able to just get together. I mean, I have no qualms about it. If they wanna go meet each other, just go ahead. But I feel like it’s more on the other side.”

After Jon and Kate split in 2009, there has been a lot of tension in the family. At the time, Kate was granted full custody of all eight of their children — 19-year-old twins, Mady and Cara, and 16-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Leah and Alexis. In 2018, Jon was granted custody of Collin and Hannah, who now reside with him.

In his public plea, he begged his other sextuplets to reunite with Collin and Hannah. “Leah, Aaden, Joel and Alexis, I love you. You’re welcome to come over, call Hannah, Collin,” he said. “I don’t know what’s holding you up. I don’t know what the ill will is, but if you watch or don’t watch or see it on the internet, I love you,” he added, wishing them a happy birthday.

Jon apologized for having to “go through media channels” but said his children are “kinda hard to reach.” He added that he hopes his outreach will open the door for his children to reconnect.

The proud dad is “slowly but surely” mending his relationship with his his other children, a source exclusively told In Touch on May 13. “He has high hopes that his entire family will all be on good terms. He loves all his kids.”

This isn’t the first time Jon has publicly reached out to his children. In August 2016, he spoke about his relationship with his twin daughters. “Mady and Cara I don’t see that much, or that often … we’re kind of not talking right now.”

Just two weeks later, the girls refuted Jon’s comments. “He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane …,” Mady said at the time. “He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen.”
