We’re Still Not Over Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s Nasty Divorce

Country music fans were devastated to learn that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were getting a divorce after four years of marriage. Two years later fans are still wondering if cheating caused the once lovebirds to go their separate ways. So, why did Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton break up?

The singers announced their split in July 2015 in a joint statement to E! News: “This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.” Despite the amount of heartbreak their divorce clearly caused them, both of them moved on rather quickly from each other. This has led a lot of people to speculate if Blake or Miranda started seeing their significant others before they split.

The Oklahoma native didn’t deny that his track “She’s Got a Way with Words” — which addresses a lover who lied and cheated — is referring to his ex-wife. Instead, he admitted that is heart was broken and he chose to put it all in his music.

“When we recorded the vocals for some of these songs, I was only six months removed from when all the crap went down,” Blake told Billboard for his cover story. “When you have a broken heart — at least, when I do — you got to get it out of your system. You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell.”

These two definitely didn’t end on good terms, but Miranda has denied cheating on Blake. Instead, she pointed the finger in his direction and named him the adulterer in their relationship. According to TMZ, it’s a classic story of he said, she said since both Blake and Miranda have accused the other of being unfaithful.

But, in the end, we guess who cheated or didn’t cheat really is a moot point since they have both moved on from each other. Miranda is dating Anderson East and Blake is very much in love with Gwen Stefani. There seem to be no hard feelings between them anymore. “Blake heard the news about Miranda and Anderson and is happy for her,” a source explained last year. “He’s only ever wanted the best for her and is glad that they can both move on in 2016. He knows who Anderson is, they have met a couple of times and thinks he’s a cool guy. He doesn’t know him that well, but if he makes Miranda happy, then that’s all that matters.”
