Chris Watts’ Mistress Was Reportedly Searching For Wedding Dresses One Week Before Triple Murder
Chris Watts was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month for the murders of his wife and kids, but prior to their deaths, his alleged mistress was convinced the Colorado dad would leave them for her. According to the Daily Mail, Nichol Kessinger spent over two hours searching the Internet for wedding dresses exactly one week before Watts killed his family.
According to the outlet, Kessinger allowed authorities to search her phone and found she Googled what to wear when walking down the aisle. They also discovered she searched “how to prepare for anal sex” and “the anal sex guide” the night before the murders.
The UK site also states that the final Google search came on August 19 when she looked into how much money Amber Frey made in her book deal as well as her net worth, while also searching “did people hate Amber Frey?” Frey was the mistress of Scott Peterson, who killed his wife, Laci, and their unborn child in 2002.
Watts, 33, was whisked away in handcuffs on Aug. 15 and charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of Shan’ann, 34, and their daughters Bella, 4 and Celeste, 3. His wife was also 15 weeks pregnant with a baby boy at the time, who would have been named Nico. Watts pleaded guilty to a total of nine accounts including the unlawful termination of pregnancy for the death of his unborn son.
However, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with pleading guilty. According to People, the soon-to-be father-of-three “yelled and cried” before confessing. “Their evidence against him was overwhelming,” a source told the outlet. “There was some yelling and some crying, but eventually he acknowledged that his life was over after he killed Shan’ann. He would have been facing years of legal challenges, and best-case scenario he would have been acquitted. Worst-case scenario, he gets put to death.”
Kessinger reportedly FaceTimed with Watts mere hours after the slayings, and she revealed that there were no sheets on the bed. “Nichol recalled on Aug. 13, 2018, she and Chris ‘FaceTimed.’ During the video call, Chris was laying on a mattress that did not have sheets on it,” court docs obtained by Radar Online explained.
“Chris said he was cleaning his home and trying to keep busy to keep his mind off things. Nichol inquired why the bed did not have sheets on it and Chris told her he had washed the sheets.”
But that’s not the only thing the cold-blooded killer tried covering up. The papers also stated that Watts’ affair was almost discovered by his wife thanks to a credit card bill. “Nichol also admitted Chris had lied about going to see a baseball game the previous weekend so he could sneak away with her for a romantic meal with her at the Lazy Dog Bar,” the papers claimed. “The secret couple also almost got discovered after Shanann — away on a business trip in Arizona — became suspicious of the $60 charge he ran up on his credit card.”
Watts was transferred on Monday from county jail to the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center, where he will undergo evaluations to determine which the Colorado Department of Corrections facility he will be housed in.
