Keeping up with…the DeBoers?? Teen Mom 2 stars Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer recently celebrated their marriage with a delayed wedding reception. And while Chelsea’s first daughter Aubree isn’t Cole’s biological child, but rather Chels’ ex Adam Lind’s, it’s clear that her Cole has really stepped up to the plate. The 29-year-old has proved his role as best stepdad in the world so much so that on last night’s episode, it was revealed that seven-year-old Aubree wants to change her last name to Lind-DeBoer.
While Aubs was more than ready to adjust her last name, Chelsea, 26, expressed hesitation, mainly due to the fact that she was afraid ex Adam would totally flip. “I don’t know if it will bother your other dad,” Chelsea said to her daughter in reference to Adam. Stepdad Cole was more than ready to give his wife’s daughter his last name. “I’m glad she is the one that wants to,” Cole said to his lady. “That makes me feel good.”
While Chels and her ever-expanding family have been the talk of the town recently, baby daddy Adam has been making headlines for his alleged drug use. After reportedly testing positive for meth in June, Chelsea has been open about her concern for her daughter’s father.
On a recent episode, the teen mom talked about how Adam never plays with their elementary school-aged daughter when she visits because he’s sleeping — a possible side effect of his drug use. “It’s just annoying,” she said. “He thinks just because he goes over there that’s an effort. You go out there and you sleep, probably because you’re coming off drugs.”
It was that same episode that Chelsea said she wished Aubree could’ve celebrated Father’s Day with Cole rather than Adam. “It’s not fair for Cole,” she said. “Why does she have to go over there? He deserves that time and wants it. I just wish he would be around or go away.” Well, maybe if this name change goes through, Cole will have more authority in the situation!
