Love is officially dead. It’s been less than 24 hours since Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced their plans to separate and — needless to say — fans are not taking it well. Of course, it wouldn’t be a celebrity breakup without some kind of speculation that someone was cheating in the relationship. Naturally, the blame fell on the 21 Jump Street actor this time around.

Though neither party ever commented on a possible affair — if anything, they did the opposite, insisting that they will move forward in their relationship amicably — people are pointing at various incidents that happened during their nearly nine-year marriage as possible “evidence” that he cheated during their marriage. In 2014, the rumors were flying that Channing cheated on his wife with Amber Heard, who was engaged to Johnny Depp at the time. According to onlookers on the Magic Mike XXL set, the two were “noticeably flirting” and “everybody saw it.”

There have long been whispers that Jenna was “the jealous type,” further ciculated after a fan got an intimate photo with the hunky actor, 37, while at a 2015 event. The fan shared the photo on Facebook and said there were “so many things she would’ve done differently” had his wife not been “standing right there.” When a fan asked, point-blank, if Jenna, also 37, seemed jealous, the fan who met Chan wrote back, “I think so. He told her to go wait in the car, maybe because he knew I wanted to go all crazy, but she decided to stay.”

Of course, in their official statement, they made no mention to cheating — or any ill will. Instead, they focused on the love they feel for each other and their daughter, Everly. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many eyars ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now,” they wrote in their joint statement, first released on Instagram. “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving, dedicated parents to Everly.”
