That’s what moms are for! On Sunday, August 11, Brody Jenner’s mom, Linda Thompson, praised her son amid his split from Kaitlynn Carter and his ex’s steamy makeout sesh with Miley Cyrus.

“Always so proud of your dignity, generosity, kindness & nobility,” the famous mom, 69, wrote in the comments section of the Hills: New Beginnings star’s Instagram photo. “You are a gentleman and I love you very much. Onward …”

The comment came hours after Brody, 35, posted a photo of himself with the caption, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today,” which he shared when Miley, 26, and Kaitlynn, 30, were spotted canoodling. Linda wasn’t the only one to allude to the recent drama in the comments.

“Let’s round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out,” pal Brandon Lee wrote. The reality star replied to Brandon’s comment writing, “@brandonthomaslee watch out! Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.” Surprisingly, Miley added to the banter, commenting, “@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #hotgirlsummer.” Ouch. It doesn’t seem like these exes are on good terms just yet.

The new bachelor has previously opened up about his close relationship with his mom, and even called her his “rock.” It seems like she gives some sound advice, too. “Everything in life is forgivable, and it’s not even for the other person, it’s for yourself. You have to forgive, so it doesn’t eat away inside you,” Linda previously said in reference to Brody’s strained relationship with his father Caitlyn Jenner — We can assume she would advise similar in the wake of her son’s breakup.

Brody and Kaitlynn ended their five-year relationship on Friday, August 2. “They love and respect one another and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” Brody’s rep Scott Newman told In Touch. Only time will tell if this couple will ever reconcile but it is a good thing that Brody has his mom to lean on during this difficult time.
