Brody Jenner’s Friend Brandon Lee Isn’t Convinced by Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s Romance

Giving his two cents. Close friend to Brody Jenner, Brandon Lee, isn’t so sure the romance between his pal’s ex Kaitlynn Carter and Miley Cyrus is legit. On Sunday, August 11, he left a cryptic comment referencing the pair just hours after their PDA went viral.

“Haha this isn’t a thing,” Brandon, 23, wrote in the comments section of an E! News post in the midst of an Instagram shade battle between the estranged exes. The comment comes days after the Miley, 26, and Kaitlynn, 30, were spotted locking lips in Italy on Friday, August 9. The “Malibu” singer rep confirmed her split from Liam Hemsworth on Saturday, August 10. The Hills: New Beginnings star, 35, and Kaitlynn called it quits just days before on August 2.

“Let’s round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out,” Brandon later commented on a solo ‘gram of Brody captioned, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.” The reality star replied to Brandon’s comment writing, “@brandonthomaslee watch out! Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.” Surprisingly Miley added to the banter commenting, “@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #hotgirlsummer.” Ouch. It doesn’t seem like these exes are on good terms just yet.

The new fling between the ladies isn’t so new to insiders close to the A-listers. Multiple sources revealed to In Touch that Miley and Kaitlyn actually met through their estranged husbands who often surf and hang out together. The two have been friends for a while. “Miley and Kaitlynn have been spending lots and lots of time together. Miley will go to Kaitlynn’s house late night — dropped off in an SUV — and spend hours there. They’ve been friends for a while,” an insider exclusively told In Touch. “This also isn’t their first trip together. They were in England last month together but didn’t post pics together, just separates of them each at Stonehenge.”

Miley rep spoke to People stating, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” they added. “They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

As for Brody and Kaitylnn, “They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward,” Brody’s rep Scott Newman told In Touch in a statement at the time.

Only time will tell if Miley and Kaitlynn are the real deal or if these exes will ever reconcile.
