Briana DeJesus Reveals Daughter Stella No Longer Has Holes in Her Heart

Just days after giving birth to daughter Stella, Briana DeJesus brought her to the ER and found out she had three holes in her heart. Now, more than a year later, the Teen Mom 2 star has good news for fans.

“My poor baby got her shots and I feel so sad for her ):” the 24-year-old wrote on Twitter on Aug. 7. “But good news is that Stella no longer has heart murmurs and all the holes are closed!!”

When she initially left the hospital, however, the mother-of-two was understandably concerned. “The results were not good and I’m really scared for her,” she said on the show. “She has three holes in her heart… The holes don’t grow, they stay the size they are. They’re kind of small. People live their lives with holes in their heart and they’re fine. She just wants to keep an eye on it.”

To make matters worse, Briana’s baby daddy Luis Hernandez was nowhere to be seen during the medical emergency. “He hasn’t asked about the risk factors or anything,” Bri claimed. “Her heart is working so hard and it might just give up.”

As a result, the MTV personality criticized Luis for his lack of trying. “She needs a father in her life,” she said to him. “This is why we kept her,” referring to the fact that they almost placed their baby girl for adoption. “There is no reason why you’re in the same state as her and you haven’t seen her or done anything for her. You hardly even ask how she’s doing.”

Stella’s health issues first came to light late last year when she talked to Radar Online. “It’s been so hard dealing with Stella,” the reality star told the publication at the time. “She has some heart condition, she has holes in her heart. It’s been difficult dealing with Stella right now,” she said, adding that her daughter — who is also lactose intolerant — would be “fine.”

Bri admitted, however, that it wasn’t easy handling her daughter’s condition on her own. “[Luis] has not seen Stella, he has not helped with Stella, and he hasn’t really asked about Stella,” she said. “He’s pretty much non-existent right now. He disappeared. He totally vanished. The moment I had Stella, he went MIA.”

Nova and Stella’s mama also claimed that MTV was part of the problem. “I can understand where he’s coming from because MTV is always around when he is around,” she explained. “It makes him uncomfortable. We’re all yelling at him cause he’s not doing what he’s supposed to do. But that’s no excuse. It sucks.”
