Something that fans didn’t know prior to Luke Perry‘s sudden passing is that he was engaged to be married. The Riverdale and 90210 actor died on March 4 after suffering a stroke, and while the engagement was never publically announced, his rep revealed in a statement to In Touch that his “fiancée,” Wendy Madison Bauer, was with him during his final moments.

“He was surrounded by his children, Jack and Sophie, fianceé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, stepfather Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder and other close family and friends,” Luke’s rep, Arnold Robinson, said Monday. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”

Although it’s unclear when Luke and Wendy started dating, they were first spotted together in April 2017 at the GLAAD Media Awards. The two held hands and walked the red carpet ahead of the evening’s festivities.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA: Actor Luke Perry attends the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 1, 2017.

According to her LinkedIn page, Wendy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Beverly Hills and earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University before getting her Master’s at Antioch University-Los Angeles. She is also an actress and made brief appearances on TV shows including The MentalistHouse and Crash, according to her IMDb

The L.A. Fire Department confirmed to In Touch on February 27 that they “responded to a 911 call at 9:30 a.m.” at Luke’s Sherman Oaks, California, house. Even though they couldn’t reveal the person’s identity, they noted that they were “transported in an ambulance to a nearby hospital.” We were told at the time that “family members scrambled to the hospital and are by his side. He was fortunate that he wasn’t alone at his home and help arrived quickly.”

Now, his two kids, Jack, 21, and Sophie, 18, will reportedly be inheriting his fortune. A source told Radar Online, “Luke loved his kids more than life itself.”

Our hearts are with Wendy, his children, family and friends during this difficult time.
