The age of #Miranderson is over. Country singer Miranda Lambert and R&B musician Anderson East (born Michael Cameron Anderson) have broken up, ending a two-year romance. Following Miranda's divorce from Blake Shelton, it really seemed like she had found the next great love of her life with Anderson. We were even hearing wedding bells!

Alas, it was all for naught, apparently. While we mourn their relationship, check out a timeline of its rise and fall.

December 2015: Anderson's stepfather Randall Ennis confirms the relationship exclusively to In Touch, saying the lovebirds have been dating "for a couple weeks."

"Michael's an awesome kid," he says. "He's got his head on straight and knows what he wants in life. He's just an amazing kid."

(Randall couldn't speak so authoritatively on Miranda. "To be honest with you, I don't really follow country music so I really didn't even know who she was," he said.)

Meanwhile, Blake Shelton is reportedly glad to hear of his ex-wife's new romance. "Blake heard the news about Miranda and Anderson and is happy for her," a source tells Hollywood Life. "He's only ever wanted the best for her and is glad that they can both move on in 2016. He knows who Anderson is, they have met a couple of times, and [he] thinks he's a cool guy. He doesn't know him that well, but if he makes Miranda happy, then that's all that matters."

January 2016: Miranda and Anderson post the same photo to Instagram, a snapshot of them cuddling under a fleece coat. "The snuggle is real," they wrote.

Miranda is also by Anderson's side this month when he suffers a painful skiing injury in Aspen over the New Year holiday. "It was a nasty fall, but Miranda was there and helped him heal, took him to get treated," a source tells Us Weekly. "So it wasn't quite the fun holiday trip they wanted, but they were still happy to be together, and he's really happy she was there nursing him by his side and making sure he was OK."

April 2016: The couple makes their red carpet debut at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards.

July 2016: Miranda celebrates Anderson's 28th birthday with an Instagram photo of the two of them smooching. "Happy birthday to my favorite 'Bama boy!" she writes.

The same month, Cosmopolitan publishes Miranda's "Cosmo Quiz," in which the singer admits Anderson was her most recent Google search query. (She wanted "to show off his cute pictures.")

August 2016: At a tour stop in Bangor, ME, Miranda brings Anderson to the stage to join her and tour mates Kip Moore and the Brothers Osbourne for a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Me and Bobby McGee."

November 2016: Miranda calls out trolls commenting on her Instagram photo of herself with Anderson at the 2016 CMA Awards. "I realized so many comments were judgmental and negative," she observes in a follow-up Instagram caption. "Cowardly people hiding behind a keyboard or a cell phone writing their useless comments about our eyes and clothes and body language. What a bunch of bulls–t."

April 2017: Anderson writes on Instagram that he "couldn't be more proud" of Miranda and "the amazing art she brings with her" following her record-breaking eighth straight Female Vocalist of the Year win at the 2017 ACM Awards. (In her Instagram post, Miranda thanks her "sweet, handsome date" for being "so supportive and kind.")

July 2017: Miranda posts another sweet Instagram message to her birthday boy, writing, "He owns the stage and he owns my heart. Thanks @andersoneast for inspiring me in so many ways. You are a light that could outshine the sun. I love making memories with you." (In his Instagram post, Anderson raves about "having the love of an amazing and kind woman.")

November 2017: Anderson and Miranda both criticize country singer Garth Brooks for lip-synching at the 2017 CMA Awards (even after Garth called Miranda "family" in his Entertainer of the Year acceptance speech).

"I keep a lot of my opinions to myself and respect anyone making music, but as a person who tries to put on the best and most honest show I can night after night, this truly offends me," Anderson writes on Instagram, alongside a headline about Garth's decision to lip-sync. "I was told country music is three chords and the truth."

"High five on this, babe," Miranda writes in the comments. "If you can't sing, then don't. It's better to be honest than to pretend. I think it's bulls–t."

February 2018: In Touch learned exclusively Miranda and Anderson have split. A source says they "grew apart" on separate tours, though Miranda wasn't expecting the breakup. ("She didn't see it coming," the source says.)

Still, this country gal isn't wallowing in self-pity — she's hard at work writing new music and preparing for her Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town this summer. "She refuses to sit around feeling sorry for herself," the source says. You go, girl!
