There’s no pain like heartbreak. Christian Carino was planning to spend the rest of his life with Lady Gaga when he popped the question, so their breakup understandably took a big toll on him. The Hollywood agent was “beyond devastated” over their split, a source told In Touch exclusively.

“Christian was beyond distraught when Gaga dumped him. He thought they were the real deal, that they were getting married. He was so in love with her and wanted a family with her,” the insider revealed to In Touch exclusively. As fans may recall, the “Bad Romance” songstress, 33, confirmed her engagement to Christian in October 2018, and by February 2019, they were over.

It seems the split took Christian by surprise, making it even harder to come to terms with. “They had a life together and he was crushed when she ended it,” the source close to the pop star’s ex shared. “Christian felt like Gaga threw him and their relationship away. Then she was on red carpets and celebrating like nothing happened. He is furious about the way she handled it.”

Gaga recently opened up about their breakup (albeit briefly) while taking the stage in Las Vegas on June 2. “So, last time I sang this song, I had a ring on my finger,” she said before performing “Someone to Watch Over Me,” while accompanied by a pianist. “So tonight will be different.”

The A Star Is Born actress and her former flame ignited split rumors when he was a no-show to the 2019 Grammys. Gaga wasn’t rocking her $400,000 diamond ring, which added fuel to the speculation since he wasn’t there for her big night, where she took home three Grammys, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her song “Shallow” with Bradley Cooper.

After seeing Gaga and Bradley’s “chemistry” together, fans have theorized the costars will get together because he and his longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk, recently split. Oh, and that’s not all: Christian just liked one of Irina’s sexy pics on Instagram, so who knows what the future holds!
