On Saturday, February 2, Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta star Shad “Bow Wow” Moss was arrested on battery charges in Atlanta over Super Bowl weekend, In Touch can confirm. According to Fulton County Jail records, the 31-year-old was arrested after causing “substantial physical harm” to a woman named Leslie Holden.
“At around 4:15 a.m., Atlanta Police were dispatched to a dispute at 205 12th St.,” Atlanta Police Department Public Affairs Officer Jarius Daugherty said in a statement. “Upon arrival, officers spoke with Leslie Holden who advised that she had been assaulted by Shad Moss. Officers also spoke with Mr. Moss, who advised that Ms. Holden assaulted him. Both parties did sustain visible minor injuries. Officers were unable to determine the primary aggressor of the altercation, so both parties were charged with battery. Both parties are being processed and will be transported to Fulton County Jail.” The incident is still under investigation.
According to The Shade Room, Leslie Holden is the real name of Moss’ ex-girlfriend, Kiyomi Leslie. Holden and Moss dated for several months, and they documented their relationship on GUHHATL. The couple got pregnant during their relationship, but Holden suffered a miscarriage three months into her pregnancy. Shad and Holden split in the fall of 2018, and Moss explained the reason behind their split during a scene with his mom, Teresa Caldwell, that aired in December 2018.
“It’s killing me the fact that I can’t handle business without her thinking something, I can’t shoot a video with a girl without her thinking something. ‘Next time you come in at 5 a.m. it’s a problem,'” he told his mom during an episode of GUHHATL.
“Me and Leslie have tried to work this thing out so many times. It’s like, where do we go from here? What are we doing? I wasn’t acting like this before I met her,” he continued. “This situation is just too toxic, the arguing and me having to fight over her trust when I’ve never given her a reason to not trust. It’s become a problem being with her. I’m done. It’s over.”
Before his arrest, the Atlanta native had been promoting his mother’s
pop-up shop for her online boutique, Taste, which took place over Super Bowl weekend.
