She’s Precious! Elizabeth Smart Welcomes Baby No. 3 With Husband Matthew Gilmour
Congrats are in order! Elizabeth Smart gave birth to baby No. 3 and introduced her adorable daughter, Olivia, to the world on Nov. 19. The new mom shared the exciting news via Instagram, while posting a snap with her husband Matthew Gilmour and their bundle of joy in the hospital.
“So happy to welcome Olivia to our family!” she captioned the snap and several of her followers filled the comment section with congratulatory messages. Elizabeth and Matthew are already the proud parents of two kids, three-year-old Chloe and James, 19 months. The kidnapping survivor announced that she was expanding her family in June, taking to Instagram with an ultrasound photo. “Pretty HUGE news! We’re expecting baby #3 in November,” Elizabeth wrote.
Elizabeth, 31, and Matthew tied the knot in 2012, during a private ceremony in Hawaii and the family-of-five now resides in Park City, UT. She’s finally looking forward to a brighter chapter, sixteen years after being kidnapped from her Utah bedroom at the young age of 14. Though she faced horrendous conditions and was repeatedly sexually abused, she was miraculously found and freed nine months after being captured. Since the traumatizing ordeal, Elizabeth has worked as a victims’ rights advocate to prevent this from happening to others.
Back in 2017, Elizabeth opened up about how much her life has changed for the better. “My children have brought so much happiness and joy. To me, they’re the very definition of love. Today, I’m so grateful for the small things,” she told PEOPLE. “I’m grateful for rain, because when I was kidnapped, that meant that I had something to drink. I’m grateful for the sunshine, because it warmed me when I was cold. Certainly, I was grateful for my family and who they were and who my parents were.” We’re so happy for Elizabeth and her loved ones!
