She gets by with a little help from her “friends,” get it? Courteney Cox finally created an Instagram account, joining the ranks of countless celebrities and influencers. And guess who helped her? Her old Friends co-star, Lisa Kudrow.
“Hello Instagram! I’m here with a little help from my friends,” Courteney, 54, captioned her very first post on the social media platform. As of January 29, it was the only update she’d made to her page. The first photo she posted featured Courteney, Lisa, and Ellen DeGeneres, and appeared to be a shot from Courteney’s appearance on Ellen’s show. The 61-year-old talk show host chatted with her in a video clip shared to EllenTube about joining the site, and Courteney explained that she felt it was “time” for her to make the leap. Ellen then surprised her with a set-up that looked a lot like Central Perk in Friends, and a visit from Phoebe herself!
After all three women settled in on the couch, they decided that moment would be featured as Courteney’s first Instagram post. Courteney then thanked Lisa, 55, for showing up, and Lisa joked that she wanted to be there for her, alluding to the iconic Friends theme song.
Now that Courteney has joined millions of others on Instagram, her fans are thrilled. They made it very clear in the comments how happy they are that she decided to bite the bullet and sign up. “Been waiting for SO longgg,” one person wrote. Another commented, “I feel a certain special character from f.r.i.e.n.d.s. (😉) said something perfect for this: ‘Welcome to the real world. It sucks! You’re gonna love it.'” These people know their sitcom quotes!
Courteney was on the show to promote her new Facebook Watch series, 9 Months with Courteney Cox. But the surprise appearance from her former co-star seems to be getting the lion’s share of the coverage from the Ellen episode! Hopefully, it will only serve to make people even more interested in checking out her show.
