We have to admit it: Brad Pitt and Kanye West is the celebrity friendship we didn’t see coming. Now that it’s here, though, we kind of love it — and so does the actor. In a new interview with Extra, he opened up about how they met and came to be close. On Wednesday, September 18, the Ad Astra star even dished details about attending Sunday Service.

“It’s really beautiful,” Brad, 55, shared. “I think what he’s doing is pretty special. It’s this real celebratory thing of people and it’s a really loving vibe and it’s beautiful — it’s huge, so beautiful. I find it really special.” His relationship with Kanye, 42, is pretty special, too. Apparently, the two stars have been running in similar circles for a while, and eventually their friendship just started to blossom.

“I love that there’s a Kanye out in the world, like, messing things up, you know?” he revealed. “[He’s] envisioning the future and, you know, we can’t forget his music. He was one of the first to come out and be raw and open — he should always get credit for that.” After years of running into each other, he’s seemingly inspired Brad to open up, too. “Man I’m just … I’m older,” the Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood actor admitted when asked about his new-found candor. “We’re all alike… we’re all a mess. Why have secrets?”

Maybe now that Brad and Kanye are close, the rapper can introduce the actor to his sister-in-law Kendall Jenner. When they were both at the September 1 celebration, the model was too star-struck to stick around, but we have a feeling she’d be more than happy to warm up quickly to the Hollywood hunk if given a second chance. And it sounds like Brad would be open to becoming a regular at Sunday Service. An onlooker revealed to In Touch that he really enjoyed himself the last time he was there.

“The service was open to whomever found out word of mouth,” the insider told In Touch. “Everything was amazing. Kanye was great, and Brad was a surprise. Everyone who was there was there to experience praise and worship. It was good to see people like Brad there also experience that. Everyone that day was on such a high, so it was a very inviting and humbling experience for all of us.”
