Get well soon! Ariana Grande took to Instagram on Sunday, November 17, to update her fans about her recent struggle with health problems. After the pop star, 26, revealed she is sick, she announced she will have to cancel her Sunday concert tour date due to illness.
“So I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow, I’m not really sure what’s going on. But I, unfortunately, don’t think I’ll be able to push through tonight and I’m so upset and sorry,” she said in a series of Instagram selfie videos. ” I’m so upset, but of course, obviously you’ll be refunded. I’m just really devastated. Thank you for understanding and sending love.”
Just one day before, Ariana used her Instagram to warn fans that she might have to cancel her upcoming shows if she didn’t get better soon.
“Hi my loves. So I’m still very sick. I’ve been sick since the last London show. I don’t know how it’s possible but my throat and head are still in so much pain. I sound OK, I’m just in a lot of pain and it’s difficult to breathe during the show,” Ariana wrote in a message to her fans on her Instagram Story. “I am seeing my doctor and trying my v best to get better for tomorrow’s show. The last thing I would ever want to do is cancel a show at this point with so few left. I’m truly cherishing every moment of this … I just really don’t know what’s happening with my body right now and need to figure it out. Please take this as a gentle heads up … I don’t want anyone to feel blindsided tomorrow if God forbid I can’t make the show happen. I am on all the meds. Getting IV drips, doing everything I possibly can to pull through. Mom and friends are taking good care of me. Just a scary feeling. Love you with all my heart and will keep you posted.”
In a series of selfie videos on her IG Story, the former Nickelodeon star shared some more information about what type of health problems she’s struggling with. She explained she had been sick for more than three weeks with a sinus infection and a cough that she hasn’t been able to shake. She said during the last concert, her head was “splitting” and felt “really heavy” and her glands also hurt. She planned to visit her doctor on her day off and she reminded fans how grateful she is for them.
Later that night, the “God Is a Woman” singer shared snaps of all the types of remedies she’s trying in order to get over her illness. She took a selfie with a face steamer mask and posted a clip featuring lemons and a variety of herbal teas.
“Update: Still can’t swallow or lift my head. Love u [sic]. Medicated AF and hoping to wake up better. Seeing doc [sic] again in the a.m. and will let you know about the show. I’m so sorry again. It’s catching up to me I guess. Love u [sic] the most,” she wrote in another message to fans. We hope Ariana feels better soon!
