Cristie Schoen Codd — who participated on the eighth season of Food Network Star — and her husband, JT, were found dead in their North Carolina home on Monday, March 16.
Robert Jason Owens, 36, a contractor and neighbor who the couple reportedly hired to work on their home has been arrested for murder in the deaths of 45-year-old JT and 38-year-old Cristie, who was five months pregnant.

On Tuesday, Owens was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of murder of an unborn child, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, FOX Carolina reports, adding the suspect allegedly broke into the Codd’s home on Saturday, March 14, and stole a laptop, jewelry and a handgun.
While police have yet to state a motive, arrest warrants reveal that Owens “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did of malice afterthought kill and murder” the couple and their unborn child on March 12.
Authorities say the contractor was also named as a suspect in the disappearance of Asheville, N.C., teenager Zeb Quinn, who vanished in early 2000. That case remains unsolved.
