Ann McGregor and her son were extremely close. She, Cory's brother Shaun, and Cory's girlfriend/co-star Lea Michele were reportedly the only people present when Cory's body was cremated. Cory died of an accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol while staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was 31 years old.
