If you’re a big fan of true crime, then you’ve probably already listened to Up and Vanished, one of our favorite investigative podcasts. In the show, documentarian Payne Lindsey looked into the disappearance and likely murder of Georgia teacher Tara Grinstead — and he uncovered some seriously scary stuff. Now that an arrest has finally been made in the case and there seems to be some serious progress happening, the podcaster is taking his show to the small screen with a TV special. Also called Up and Vanished, the special will give fans an all-new look at the case, and it’s premiering this Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. on Oxygen.

As for what sets the show apart from the podcast, well, Payne exclusively tells In Touch that the investigation will continue. “Up and Vanished listeners heard Tara’s story week by week in real time as we were investigating [in the podcast],” he shared. “In the special, we’re introducing the case to a new audience and giving fans a more visual account of what happened as we get closer to the truth.” The show will help put faces to all the voices we heard throughout the story. Check out some of them in the trailer for the special below.

And since more has happened since the podcast aired its last episode, it’ll be an update on where the case has gone from there. “Viewers can expect new information that we’ve gathered since the podcast ended,” he says. “There will be a really big focus on the details surrounding the suspects in this case… l think the right people are being looked into, and they are the ones responsible.”

So will the show be able to get to the bottom of things? A lot of mysteries like this don’t always have clear answers for viewers, but Payne thinks that this show will get people one step closer to the truth. “The ultimate goal is the same as when we started this,” Payne admitted. “To see justice for Tara, and I’m confident we are getting closer to seeing that happen.”
