WARNING: This post contains VERY graphic and unsettling images.
It may be the first day of spring, but it’s still really, really cold out there for a lot of us — and this woman’s story of her debilitating frostbite will remind you to drink responsibly when it’s cold out!
An Imgur user named TheBassistsMuse (pictured below) is an Australia native who recently moved to Canada. To celebrate her move, she and friends went out drinking — and, apparently, she got a little too drunk.

She says she was “blackout drunk” by midnight, and was last seen around 2:30 a.m. — she then went missing with “no phone, no money and no idea where [she] was.”
The next photo was taken 20 minutes after she was found (around 5:45 a.m.) with frostbite and moderate hypothermia.
She notes, “A nurse told me that best case scenario, I keep my fingers. Worst case, I lose my hands.”
Her fingers then began to swell and blister.
Her doctor — identified by the ‘Daily Mail’ as Randall Friesen, whom the patient referred to as “Dr. Freezin” — instructed her not to pop the blisters, as he’d be doing that days later.
“With my hands over a metal dray, he cut my blisters with a scalpel. Puss went everywhere. EVERYWHERE,” she writes. “I think I even got the hospital curtains. After a few minutes, I was completely deflated and this [below] was the result.”
Now, she’s in recovery mode and is thankfully able to use her hands again.
Her doc said she’ll likely be able to keep all her fingers — but he has some concerns about the left pinky and the right middle finger. Ultimately, she won’t find out until June.
And let this be a reminder to all you crazy kids out there — please drink responsibly!
