Well, it seems the feud between Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon is alive and well at the 2017 Oscars, but his opening rant is leaving some fans with one burning question: Why does Jimmy Kimmel hate Matt Damon?

The hysterical back and forth between the two celebs has been going on for some time now. Back in 2009, Jimmy’s then-girlfriend Sarah Silverman starred with Matt in a satirical music video centered around how the two were sleeping together. To which Jimmy responded with a video starring Ben Affleck uncovering their affair. The duo even did a bit together where they attended couples therapy.

“Best Picture Vominee Matt Damon,” the 49-year-old captioned the pic.

Matt was quick to respond to the diss on the ABC red carpet. “He’s talentless himself, but unfortunately, he’s got an incredible group of writers who work for him,” Matt said. “So, I’m afraid, I think I’m in for it tonight. It’s going to be rough.”

The Manchester By the Sea nominee wasn’t wrong! Jimmy made it clear he wasn’t holding back in a pre-show tweet.

“Dead man walking the red carpet,” the host tweeted.

And the hilarious gag reached it’s peak on stage during Jimmy’s opening remarks to the audience.

“I’ve known Matt for a long time now. I’ve known Matt so long [that] when I first met Matt, I was the fat one. We’ve had problems — he’s a selfish person, those of you who have worked with him know this,” Jimmy said. “Matt, as you know, could have starred in Manchester by the Sea. He could have taken that lead actor part for himself, but he didn’t.He handed what turned out to be an Oscar-caliber role over to his friend [Casey Affleck] and made a Chinese ponytail movie instead. And that movie, The Great Wall, went on to lose $80 million. Smooth move, dumbass.”

Well, from the looks of it, this age-old feud isn’t going anywhere any time soon!
