It was another emotional elimination night on Dancing With the Stars, when former Bachelor Jake Pavelka and partner Chelsie Hightower were sent home. After six weeks of competition, Jake fought back tears as he told host Tom Bergeron how honored he was to be a part of this season and thanked Chelsie for being so great to his fiancée, Vienna Girardi.
“People would poke fun at me because I had no dance moves,” Jake told In Touch after the show. “This experience crushed all the bad memories and now I have the best memories of dancing. Now I think I can dance better than the average Joe. “
Jake is still contemplating his next move, but it may well be in the entertainment industry.

Dancing With the Stars
Jake Pavelka and Chelsea Hightower
Eliminated: April 27
You seemed so upset about the elimination — are you okay?
Jake: I’m good. The thing I can confidently say is that I gave everything every time I was on that dance floor and left no stone unturned and Chelsie pushed me to my limit — I thank her for that. I wish we had more… or could have gotten a little further but it’s a competition and a part of life. I grew into a dancer and I had, and still have, the best dance partner on the entire show. The choreography was not easy!
Chelsie: It was hard.
Jake: She [didn’t just] dance around me. We danced together.
Chelsie: There were no breaks — he worked hard.
How have you seen Jake change over the time you have worked together?
Chelsie: Obviously, his confidence and dancing grew, and we had a great relationship and we got to know each other so well through this process — the good, the bad and we had a lot of fun. He grew so much as a dancer.
What will you miss about the whole experience?
Jake: Chelsie and the whole Dancing With the Stars family. Getting to train at this level — there is a lot I will miss. The competitive aspect of the show, I live for stuff like that.
Chelsea: I’ll miss Jake. He is a genuinely great guy and will miss being in the rehearsal studio with him. And Monday nights, being able to grow together as a dance partnership, and our friendship.
