Fans were psyched to learn The Voice stars Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton began dating following their respective splits this summer — and a new report claims their romance is responsible for the surge in ratings!

Nielsen states the past week’s episode garnered 12.56 million viewers, which is nearly two and a half million more than the previous week’s 10.29 million.

“People are tuning in just to see the sparks fly between them, so they were told to keep the momentum going and make it even steamier. Gwen’s whole ‘I love you, Blake’ thing was not planned. However, it was perfect and they loved it,” a source tells Radar. “Everyone just hopes that Gwen and Blake stay together.”

Blake filed for divorce from Miranda Lambert in July after four years of marriage, and shortly thereafter Gwen called it quits from husband of 13 years Gavin Rossdale, with whom she has three children — Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 1.
