Turpin Home Where Several Siblings Were Allegedly Tortured Sells For $310,000 At Auction

As previously reported, the couple made headlines last January when they were arrested for holding their 13 children captive.

The siblings were found living in “dark and foul-smelling surroundings” where some had been bound, shackled, or padlocked to beds, according to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Back in March, their lawyer, Jack Osborn, revealed that the children had been released from the hospital and are now living together in a home in rural California.

“The adult siblings want to be known as survivors, not victims,” Osborn told ABC News.

He continued, “They’re joyful, warm, considerate. It’s not all about them. They want to hear what’s going on with you, and me, and my family. It’s just really fun. It’s fun to be around them. Of course, they’re really full of joy about their life and the things they get to experience right now.”

AOL reports that despite its condition and history, the house had over 42 bids.

The Turpin parents will go on trial in November.
