In an emotional plea to concerned fans across the world, Michelle Williams broke her silence today on the death of her former love, Heath Ledger. "Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken," Michelle said in a statement released today, as she made plans to travel to Perth, Australia, for Heath's funeral, which is expected to be held next week. She is taking a measure of comfort during this very sad time in caring for the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Matilda. "I am the mother of the most tenderhearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father," she said. "All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."
