Yikes! A stagehand was reportedly stabbed in the neck during a fight on the set of Anne Hathaway’s new movie The Witches on June 19. Police were reportedly called to Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire after the confrontation between two crew members broke out.

“Police were called at around 12:35 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday, June 19) to reports of an incident at Warner Bros studio production facility in Leavesden,” Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Senior Press and PR Officer Fiona Winspear confirmed to In Touch. “One man, in his 40s, sustained a small laceration to his neck and was taken to hospital by ambulance. He was released later that evening following treatment. A total of two ambulances were called and police arrested the alleged attacker. The brawl was apparently between a rigger and the stagehand who are a part of around 100 crew members who were present on set. The injured individual is believed to have been stabbed with a Stanley knife and is reportedly in his 30s. Warner Bros. told The Daily Mail they could not comment because the matter is currently under police investigation.

The film is a remake of the 1990 film of the same name and is set to be released next year. The movie’s IMDB page summarizes it as being, “based on Roald Dahl’s 1983 classic book The Witches” which “tells the scary, funny and imaginative tale of a seven-year-old boy who has a run-in with some real-life witches.” Robert Zemeckis is the director and wrote the script. Stars like Anne, AGE — who plays the Grand High Witch — Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci and Chris Rock are all in the film. However, it is unknown whether or not any of them were on set when the incident took place.
