Just hours after In Touch Weekly published a police report — obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request — that revealed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar failed to act for more than 16 months after their now-27-year-old son Josh confessed to molesting his sisters, a preview has been released of the 19 Kids and Counting stars’ upcoming interview with Megyn Kelly, airing tonight on Fox News.

“As parents, we felt, ‘We’re failures,’” the 48-year-old matriarch tells the reporter.
“We tried to raise our kids to do what’s right — to know what’s right. And yet one of our children made really bad choices. I think, as parents, we were devastated.”
In addition to the parents, two of the victims — Jill, 24, and Jessa, 22 — will be interviewed.

As the newest police report revealed, waiting more than 16 months to report their son’s wrongdoings wasn’t the only way Jim Bob, 49, and Michelle failed their children.
The report states they initially failed to get counseling for not only Josh, but also their daughters — the victims of these atrocious acts.
Several legal experts tell In Touch that Jim Bob and Michelle could have faced up to six years in prison for their actions and been charged with Permitting Abuse of a Minor (Arkansas Code 5-27-221).
The sit-down with Megyn — airing tonight at 9 p.m. on Fox News — will be the first time the Duggars speak of Josh’s actions since releasing a statement shortly after In Touch Weekly exposed the investigation.
Their joint statement said, “Back 12 years ago our family went through one of the most difficult times of our lives. When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes, and we were shocked… Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to God. We pray that as people watch our lives, they see that we are not a perfect family.”
