It was, appropriately enough, a covert affair when Covert Affairs star Piper Perabo married director and exec producer Stephen Kay in NYC on July 26—and Piper's on-screen ex Christopher Gorham couldn't be happier for his newlywed co-workers!
"I'm just so ecstatic for the both of them; they're just a really lovely couple," Christopher tells In Touch of the duo, who met on the set of the USA hit.
"They just complement each other. They've always worked together very well from day one, before they even started the relationship. People get nervous when co-workers fall in love, but to their credit, their personal relationship has never impeded in any way what needs to happen on set. They're extremely professional. They're just beautiful people and because of the unique genius that both of them possess, they make a great fit."
Piper's wedding isn't the only positive off-screen synergy stemming from Covert Affairs: Christopher has teamed up with Operation Mend, an organization out of his UCLA alma mater that provides free medical and surgical care to Wounded Warriors, (like his blind character Auggie, who was injured in battle) from all four branches of the military.
"The fact that they're supporting people that are like the character I portray on Covert Affairs drew me to it," Christopher explains. "I can tell you first hand Operation Mend is committed to what they do, so I'm more than comfortable to bring attention to it.”
The actor is encouraging viewers to donate via Omaze up until today 8/14 (Christopher's birthday!) on an assortment of prizes including a set visit for a winner/guest, Alice + Olivia Mari Easy Dolman Dress and Christian Louboutin heels worn by Piper in the Covert Affairs episode, “Wake Up Bomb."
