After the first part of Investigation Discovery’s docuseries, Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery, aired on Sunday, April 9, plenty of questions still remained, including whether or not George Anthony sexually abused his daughter while she was a child.

One of the defense’s main arguments during Casey’s murder trial was that the young mom had been molested by her father, and that he played a key part in disposing of her two-year-old daughter Caylee’s body after she accidentally drowned in the family’s pool.

Although we still don’t know whether Casey’s claims against her dad are true — and will most likely never know — George has vehemently denied abusing his daughter, both while taking the stand in 2011, and in interviews today.

While talking to The Associated Press in March, Casey, now 31, continued to place the blame on her father. “The last time I saw my daughter, I believed she was alive and was going to be okay, and that’s what was told to me. My father told me she was going to be okay. That she was okay,” she explained.

In a statement released through their attorney, George and his wife Cindy, responded, “After years of silence, Casey Anthony has decided to complete an interview and has once again pointed to George Anthony, her father, as a suspect in the disappearance and death of his granddaughter, Caylee. George, who has continued to try and move forward from this tragedy and who was vindicated on multiple occasions, is once again forced to relive the hints, rumors, lies, and allegations that are being made by Casey Anthony.”

Shortly after Casey was found not guilty of her daughter’s death, George revealed that Casey may have drugged Caylee in an effort to sedate her, but accidentally killed her instead. “Yeah I blame my daughter for Caylee not being here today… I believe she was there and I also believe she probably had some help,” he said on an episode of Dr. Phil.
