Céline Dion’s world was rocked on Jan. 14 when her husband René Angélil lost his battle with cancer at age 73 — and the singer spoke out on Wednesday following his tragic death.
The 47-year-old songstress and her family gathered amongst others at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for a memorial tribute.

“On behalf of my family, thank you again for being here with us this evening for this beautiful tribute. René, I love you so much,” Céline said.
René, who fought cancer on three separate occasions in his lifetime, was crucial to his wife’s success since the beginning of her career at age 12.

"I was never part of any of the meetings that he had where he had to say yes or no. He protected me from day one to for the rest of my life, I am pretty sure of that," she said.
Besides his wife, René is also survived by their children — twins Nelson and Eddy and son René-Charles — and his adult children from a previous relationship — Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.
Our continued thoughts are with his loved ones.
