Howie Mandel found himself in hot water during Tuesday night’s America’s Got Talent, after he poked fun at the eating and mental health disorder, bulimia.
It all started when the 59-year-old was praising Stevie Starr — a contestant who refers to himself as a “professional regurgitator” — who swallows whole objects and brings them back up whole.

"You, sir, make bulimia entertaining," he said on live TV, indicating he knew it would "probably come out wrong."
A few acts later, a guilt-ridden Howie apologized for the insensitive joke following backlash.
"I just wanna take a second just to apologize. I made a comment earlier, it's live television, I wasn't thinking. I made light of bulimia, which is a very serious eating disorder and mental health issue,” he said.

“I deal with mental health all the time, and I did something stupid. I should never make light of it. I apologize to anybody that was offended. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes."
He later reiterated his apology to his 656,000 Twitter followers.
