It's been seven years since TLC's Sister Wives premiered and the polygamous Brown family has changed so much over the years!

Kody's famous line that he likes to repeat on the show is "love should be multiplied, not divided," and that's how he lives his life. Kody, Janelle, Meri, and Robyn all belong to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) — a denomination of the Mormon religion which allows their followers to practice polygamy.
But the even though the family lived in Utah — a state which nearly 50 percent of its population is Mormon — they lived in fear of being arrested because of the state's strict anti-polygamy laws. So in 2011, the family fled to Las Vegas where they could have more freedom and live openly as polygamists.
"We did not know how aggresive the district attorney would be, so we didn't want him finding out that we were leaving the state," Kody said in a 2015 interview with Oprah.

His family — which includes his four wives and all 18 of their combined children — had to pack up their belongings on three days' notice.
But even though there were tears from their kids at first, Kody said that the decision to move was what was best for his family in the long run.
"There was an immense amount of peace that we felt in arriving to Las Vegas," he continued. "It was like, 'Okay, this is our new home and here we believe we will experience freedom."
