What Does Javi Marroquin Do in the Air Force? Find Out!

The season premiere of Teen Mom 2 aired tonight on MTV, and it was filled with the usual drama — arguments, celebrations, and plenty of baby daddy drama. Unfortunately, one of the most difficult moments to watch came when fans got a heartbreaking glimpse into what life is like for Javi Marroquin as a military parent. The 24-year-old — who is in the Air Force — told his son Lincoln, 3, and former stepson Isaac, 7, that he "might have to leave again," and Isaac burst into tears.

The reality star graduated from Air Force technical training in May 2013 and left for deployment last year. In August 2016, he returned home after six months in Qatar and was greeted with a warm welcome upon his arrival. At the time, Javi's then-wife, Kailyn Lowry, took to Instagram to post a photo with the caption, "Welcome back!"

In March of the same year, Kail revealed that she was divorcing Javi — meaning that he was overseas at the time the news broke. The couple has son Lincoln together and she has Isaac from a previous relationship with ex-boyfriend, Jo Rivera. Yet Javi always adored Isaac and treated him like his own son.

During the June 2016 reunion show, Kailyn said, "Isaac, I mean, he calls Javi 'dad.' So yeah, that plays a big factor [in the split]. I think about my mom… I probably had about eight stepdads as a kid."

In April 2016, Kail posted a sweet — and heartbreaking — snap of a sign that read, "I love you and I mis[sic] you dad from Isaac." BRB, crying! Despite their marriage coming to an end after four years, the former couple seems to be making it work. During the premiere, Kail acknowledged that everyone — including Jo — is co-parenting well. But since she's expecting a third child with new baby daddy, Chris Lopez, we're not so sure that's going to last. Regardless of the drama, we're grateful to Javi for his service to this country!
