At least he’s trying. As his wife, Felicity Huffman, fulfills her prison sentence, William H. Macy is working hard to hold down the fort in her stead. “Felicity and Bill are a real unit and Bill is holding the family together as Felicity completes her sentence,” a source told In Touch exclusively. As for Felicity, 56, the insider added, “She wants to put this behind her and focus on the girls and healing her family.”

In April, the actress pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud for paying $15,000 to better her 19-year-old daughter Sophia’s SAT scores. “Sophia, who was at the center of this scandal, is filming in Vancouver and Bill has been spending time with her there to help support her,” the insider dished. “It’s the biggest role she has ever worked on and she’s so happy in her element. This is all she has ever wanted to do, so the timing is ironic yet perfect.”

The Desperate Housewives alum was sentenced to 14 days in prison on September 13 for her involvement in the college admissions scandal. “Felicity is grateful she only received 14 days in prison,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “The probation report was favorable for Felicity, but there were no guarantees that the judge could have sentenced to her a much longer term.” In addition to her jail time, the actress was also sentenced to one year of probation and to complete 250 hours of community service. Plus, she was fined $30,000.

When the star was sentenced, she made a statement, “I accept the court’s decision today without reservation. I have always been prepared to accept whatever punishment Judge Talwani imposed. I broke the law. I have admitted that and I have pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period.”

After Huffman completes her sentence, it sounds like she and her husband will be focused on picking up the pieces for their family. “All they want is for the girls to be happy,” the source told In Touch. “And to heal from all the trauma that has come from this.”
