Drama alert!

The Teen Mom OG reunion special aired Monday night on MTV and was filled with cringeworthy moments — specifically surrounding Farrah Abraham.

During a heated exchange with host Dr. Drew, the 26-year-old mom — who appeared to be more agitated than usual — walked off stage. When she returned, the reality star broke down in tears discussing her childhood.

Yet the most surprising moment for fans came when Farrah called her father "dad." This may have been the first time she referred to her biological father in that way publicly, rather than by his first name, Michael.

The 60-year-old — who also took the reunion stage — admitted to "abandoning" his daughter when she was young. However, he said they were now doing much better than before, which may have prompted the "dad" comment.

In a 2011 interview with SheFinds, Farrah explained that her mother, Deborah, was to blame for why she has always referred to him as Michael.

"I have a sister and we have different dads, so in all fairness to my sister, I call my dad Michael just like she does and everyone else in my family. It works out fairly this way in my family. I do call my dad 'Dad' sometimes. If others look at this as a disrespectful thing, then you can talk to my mom about it. I never started it; I was taught to do it this way."

Deb, however, denies the claims.

During a recent Facebook Live interview with BestProducts, she said the reason for the first-name basis was a bit more cultural.

“In our family, that’s not a big deal because a lot of my relatives on my dad’s side are from Denmark,” she said. “We’re only second generation in the United States. I [grew up] hearing my dad call his parents [by their first names]. It’s just a thing. I don’t know for all Danes but for them and everyone on their side of their family, everybody calls everybody by their first names."

"It's a sign of respect," she added.

Regardless of the reason, we hope the two now have a healthier relationship!
